This is a beautifully carved Loon by Inuit artist Josie Iqaluq from Sanikiluaq, Nunavut.

What caught my eye with this piece is the jet black stone used. I also particularly like the head of this Loon. It is very symmetrical and round with a gorgeous smooth finish to it. A property amongst Sanikiluaq art which makes it so famous.
