This is a rare opportunity to acquire a representation carving by a master carver at a more affordable price point.

This is an exquisite rendition of the famous Canadian snowy owl. The green stone is absolutely breathtaking and the purity of it is so vibrant; a true masterpiece.

It is the contrasting spectre of radiant green stone merging onto the stirring yellow inlaid eyes which makes this piece parade onto another level of tenacious exuberance. These details immediately grabbed my attention. This stone makes for an especially exciting piece.

The inlaid eyes are Manning's raison d'être and contribution to the Inuit art world. There is no artist that has mastered this gruelling technique quite like Manning since fitting them into the stone takes much experience and skill. It is the eye catching colours of the eyes that bring his pieces to life.

This is a gorgeous and classic snowy owl by world renown Joanasie Manning. He is internationally famous for his owls like these ones (mother owl with a chick).

The eyes made from caribou antler blend exquisitely with the serpentine stone. This carving is polished to a mirror shine with beautiful proportions and lines throughout.

Joanasie Manning (1967- )

Joanasie was born and lived in Cape Dorset all his life.

Joanasie began carving at the age of twenty. His grandfather, the renowned carver Osuitok Ipeelee, was a great influence on his work. After carving sporadically for a number of years, Joanasie is now working more consistently. He has evolved a personal style that is becoming stronger and more confident.*
