MASTERPIECE CARVING  MUSEUM CALIBRE

The showstopper for this Muskox is the dramatic large head which is dropped down to the ground and tilted.

(Is this majestic animal listening to the ground for approaching hoofbeats?)

The Headpiece of the Horn (the piece that goes across the top of the head) is exaggerated in size.

The result is that at first glance, the Muskox appears to be wearing a pair of cool sunglasses on his head.

The horns then extend forward to the tip of the muzzle. The components of the headpiece, the extended horns, and the tilted dropped head combine into a Muskox head that is awe-inspiring and inspirational.

Kellypalik deserves recognition and accolades for this kind of creativity and talent.

He is a Master Carver who consistently captures the essence of his subjects and then catapults that essence onto a higher level of artistry.

I had to wait over a year before I acquired this beauty.

I will not be surprised when this superb sculpture is worth so much more in a few years and it is coveted by Inuit art collectors wishing they had had the wisdom to make this creature their own when they had the chance.
