Masterpiece Carving! Museum quality Sculpture!

Did you know that some narwhals have two tusks like *Danny*?

Did you know that tusks are more common in males and are actually an enlarged tooth with up to 10 million nerve endings inside?

The tusk juts from the head and can grow as long as 10 feet!

Jaco Ishulutak is one of Inuit art's top carvers.

His large human "fairytale" figures are legendary and unique to Jaco.

So too, Jaco's walruses and narwhals are truly spectacular in their execution.

Jaco has an uncanny ability to take an overbearing massive stone and finesse and cajole it into a larger-than-life sculpture.

At first glance, Danny looks realistic but Jaco always uses his magical mallet and chisel to apply a bit of Abstraction to this piece,

Edges and angles are rounded and soft, the head is a bit more suggested.

The realistic style would have each feature of the head perfectly detailed.

I love the contrast of the brilliant sheen of the rich dark green stone with the matte finish of the rock over which Danny is swimming.

Jaco is admired for his graceful and elegant carvings but he is especially recognized for his grand whales and sea creatures.

I have seen many narwhals over the last fifteen years.

Danny is a MASTERPIECE!
