Some of the greatest works of Inuit sculptures defy analysis.

Sometimes adjectives used to describe the piece can be contradictory.

For instance: this Ashoona bear is strong AND winsome

Quirky AND refined.

Monumental AND endearing.

This bear has all these characteristics.  Our bear is perfectly balanced. He is more ample in size than the average dancing bear which sets him apart from the crowd.

Also, the stone he is carved from is fascinating.

Rather than a plain rich brown serpentine stone, this stone is completely speckled with a caramel colour. This speckling creates a 3D effect that gives the piece even more mass.

Do you know someone who marches to the beat of their own drum that would love this enchanting individualist?
