Masterpiece Sculpture!  Museum quality Carving!

This is the most intriguing piece in the gallery.

The incredible artist responsible for this piece is Ning Ashoona.  She is the only active female carver in Cape Dorset.

She is able to tease elegance and grace from stone. and transform it into loons and swans.

I have never seen a sculpture like Shadows.

Are two heads really better than one?

The viewer can imagine that this transformation piece is one bird caught in the act of splitting into two birds.

OR, is this an unfortunate creation of God, Siamese or conjoined birds forever locked together in one body?

The deep inky green and. black stone is dramatic and exaggerates Shadows lines and proportions.

This is an unusual and stunning sculpture.

What a spectacular and memorable gift this would be for retirement, a wedding or any special moment.

When a carving is "injured" we assume it will never be perfect again.

When placed in the hands of a master restorer, your carving will be brought back to life.

See many amazing repairs in our Carving Restoration and Repair section.
