I love these earthy colours because they remind us that these incredible carvings emanate from the Earth's outer crust.

The Inuit carvers tell us that the spirit of the stone tells the artist what to carve; they simply chisel away what is not necessary.

The carver is simply releasing the Dancing bear from the stone.
