Masterpiece Sculpture!

Joanasie Manning is one of a few Master carvers whose signature carving is the Owl.

Joanasie's Owls are immediately recognizable has his own.

Have you seen Manning's Shield From Harm's Way, and Curious Black Owls.?

Manning almost always portrays an adult Owl protecting a juvenile Owl.

This sculpture is absolutely enchanting for two reasons.

Manning has tucked this sweet owlet under the wing of his protector. He is getting large enough now that he doesn't quite fit BUT he still needs this refuge.

As we all do.  Man or beast.

Secondly, the color of this stone is exquisite!

Deep, rich, creamy, thick, chocolate brown. Woodsy, earthy, magnetic.

The Owls' white eyes immediately reach out to us because of the contrast between colors and also well, because they are large and sympathetic.

This is an exquisite rendition of the Canadian Snowy Owl.  The purity of it is so vibrant. A true masterpiece.

Manning's owls are Canadian gold.
