**Pitseolak Qimirpik SIGNATURE Eagle carving

Museum quality piece!  Magnificent Movement!

This sculpture is an extremely rare Eagle with Fish Qimirpik Masterpiece.

Pits is one of Canada's top carvers.  He has a large international presence.

His owls are his signature pieces. You may have one or two of them in your collection.

All of Pits' Masterpieces capture the hearts of serious Inuit art collectors.

But this flying eagle, is what I believe is Pits' most compelling subject.

Here we are witness to the life and death struggle between an eagle and a fish.

We are sharing the experience of the hunter and the hunted.

The scene is simple but potent.

The eagle is powerful and intense as he concentrates on holding onto the wiggling fish which he has just captured.

The fish is serene and appears to have a  determined resolve to stay alive.

Pits rarely carves his Eagle motif.

The balance of this sculpture must be exact.  This presentation, ie with the eagle flying with outstretched wings and in a vertical position requires years of skill and lots of talent.

The lines and proportions of this carving are immaculate. The polish and colour of the rich green stone is breathtaking.

It is very difficult for a gallery to acquire a Qimirpik eagle.

Honoured and fortunate is the collector who acquires this masterpiece eagle and fish carving for his/her collection.
