Luke Anguhadluq was born at Chantrey Inlet in 1895 but because of famine he was forced to move several times and finally arrived in Baker's Lake in 1961.

He lived in an igloo in the winter and a skin tent in the summer until he was 72.

He began his career as an artist when he was 65.

He may have been influenced by the prosperity of some artists in the area to test his illustrative talents.

His drawings depicted his Utkuhikhalingmiut customs.

Hunting, drum dancing and people in Anguhadluq's community were his inspirations.

Luke's works were featured in over 94 national and international exhibitions. 

Six of these shows featured Luke exclusively.
