In many cases, the stone that plays as significant of a part as the art itself. This particular serpentine stone used for this magnificent Goose is deep and dark, highlighted with turquoise camouflage. Absolutely striking! Something that we don't often get to see in Serpentine stone. It is what illuminates the piece to another level.

This magnificent Dancing Goose shows Shaa at his audacious best.
Dancing Geese are Shaa’s signature theme.

He begins by teasing the natural spirit of the bird from the stone. The energy of this bird spirit is one of majesty, tempered with a sense of comedy.

Next, Shaa gives the bird its physical presence.

The proportions are perfect. This goose is planted firmly on the ground even as it lifts one leg! The curves of the outstretched wings remind us that this bird is not meant to be earthbound. At any moment, a gust of warm wind will envelop the goose and his instinct will cause him to flap his wings and soar toward the heavens.

Pudlalik Shaa has given us another Masterpiece carving.
