Etulu was best known for his loon carvings.

His brother is Cape Dorset carver Kelly Etidloie and his son the late Isacci Etidloie (1972-2014) was also an accomplished carver.

To view one of Isacci's beloved large carvings which is available in the Gallery, please see his Sea Goddess and Char Fish.

Etulu's loon is sleek, elegant and carved to perfection.

Luna's feathers are spectacular in their presentation.

Etulu would spend days labouring over the meticulous carving of his loons' feathers.

And not just one feather design but at least five different feathers based on their function and location.

This detail transforms Luna from a rigid and static carving into a lively charming waterfowl.

Luna is a magnificent beauty.

She may well be one of the last Etulu carvings that you will find in a Gallery.

After that, you will likely have to search the large Auction Houses to acquire any of his pieces from private collections.

Many of my clients adored Etidloie's Loons.

Look in the Gallery archive to see his previous Loons.
