I love these earthy colours because they remind us that these poignant Dancing bears are carved from rock which forms the Earth's outer solid layer or crust.
The Inuit carvers tell us that the spirit of the stone tells the artist what to carve.
The carver is simply releasing the Dancing bear from the Earth.
