Magnificent Sculpture!

Caribou sculptures fascinate me.

They are probably one of the most difficult pieces to carve.  Each leg tapers into the foot and are not just difficult to carve, but they are susceptible to breaking.

Because of this, my focus is immediately on the legs.

Then, I look at the antlers.

Again! Another feature that is difficult to carve because of its complexity.

Great antlers will make me covet a sculpture.  The body of the caribou can be average, but if the antlers are amazing, I will forgive everything else.

This gorgeous Caribou captured my heart.

His colour is rich and velvety.

The back hump is subtle.

The hanging folds under the neck are a unique touch.

The angles of the carving are angular AND curved.

And the antlers?

Simple but rugged with a touch of "intimidation".

Dreamer is peaceful and gentle.

He could be coming home to you.
