I have so much respect and admiration for any carver who can carve a dancing bear.
Mosesee Pootoogook is one of my favourite carvers of small and medium bears.
His bears can be athletic or elegant.
And they are always unpredictable.
This means that Moe always delivers a bear with personality and a certain je ne sais quoi.
This jet-black beauty is diving on his left paw This is the athlete.
Look at the angle of the bear's arm as he holds his entire weight on his paw.
This kind of engineering prowess requires such talent and experience on the part of Moe.
Pootoogook's pieces have incredible flow and movement.
This movement is essential to the spirit of a dancing bear.
I am always looking for my next Pootoogook bear.
They are perfect dancing bears.
