Masterpiece Carving! Magnificent Movement!
Our Owl family looks to have been caught unaware!
I couldn't help but think, "Hands Up! Don't move!".
This is an amazing sculpture for two reasons.
Number one. Adamie has chosen a pure flawless black stone for this raptor family.
I have written on more than one occasion about my fascination with black stone.
Especially black stone with a shiny mirror gleam.
it may seem contradictory, but I think this medium exaggerates every gorgeous line, every fastidious detail, every contrasting feature (like these inlaid white eyes) of the carving.
Secondly, although the bird look surprised, they are NOT intimidated. Especially the young owlet on the left. He seems self assured and ready to take on the world.
I have great respect for owls. Or any raptor for that matter.
I appnreciate their incredible beauty and their warrior spirits.
Where could you put this magnificent art piece?
On your kitchen island where you could see them beak to face every day?
