Ottokie's claim to fame is his 2, 3 and sometimes 4 way dancing bears.

A dancing bear is able to balance on one foot, two feet, three or all four feet.

I have so much respect and admiration for any carver who can create any form of a dancing bear.

Ottokie and Mosesee Pootoogook are two of the talented carvers who carve grace and elegance into their athletic dancing bears.

This jet black beauty is diving on his right paw and THEN dancing on his right foot.

When you look at the different views and angles in my pictures, you can actually feel the movement as he flips from paw to foot.

He is carved in the realistic style. His body is ample and muscular. Ottokie has given him a humourous demeanour.  He is a Cape Dorset bear for sure as the Cape Dorset aesthetic is realism combined with humour and dancing!

Ottokie is among the best artists out there for medium-sized dancing and walking bears. His pieces have so much flow and movement to them and really exemplify the spirit of a dancing bear. I never hesitate to acquire his pieces as they are all exuberantly done to perfection.
