Whenever I have one of Markoosie’s Dancing bears in the gallery, I position the carving so I can see it when I’m working at my desk. Believe me when I tell you that I have been privileged to see thousands of dancing bears over my career. 

There is something so special and soul enriching about Markoosie’s Dancing bears!
Yes!  They are joyful.  
Yes! They are playful. 
Yes! They are innocent. 

Yet, I still can’t explain how Papigatook has been able to breathe such exuberance for life into his bears. 

The glossy serpentine stone is the exact medium for this blithe spirit of a bear. He is small in stature but large in personality.
