Eskimo Carver is a first of its kind piece in that it depicts an eskimo boy holding a stone to carve with. Like most of Pit's pieces, this carving is very iconic in that it captures the essence of a carvers life in the North.

The facial features are alluring, done in a humoristique fashion. The slight tilt and posture of the Eskimo boy give it a certain dynamic to the piece that can only be achieved by a master carver like Pits.

Pits has changed the Inuit art scene forever and he is recognized globally as a trailblazer.  His Inuk themed pieces are done in such an animated and dynamic way. This is why they are in such high demand internationally.

The carving is stoic and opulent.  The dark stone is uplifted by the terse lines and flawless symmetry of the sculpture. This Masterpiece howls with bountiful audacity and sashay.  The facial features are permanently etched with joy reflecting the soul of this Eskimo carver.

The brilliance of the subject matter is indeed utilitarian verging on the abstract of modernism.

This Masterpiece is so different and so incredibly unique!!!  Few collectors will ever own such a venerable and worthy spirit of the North.
