JUMPER is an exceptional carving of an Arctic hare.
Most rabbits are carved in a vertical position but Jumper has all four paws on the ground.
Additionally, Jupa has used a more "primitive" carving style in which the features are more suggested than realistic.
This style is why so many collectors love Vintage carvings.
In a realistic style, the hare's ears would be long.
Look at Jumper's hind end!
The haunches are stocky, muscular and powerful!
And of course, an animal who spends its life hopping, needs hind legs that can meet that demand.
Jumper's dark green black colour with patches of rust is gorgeous.
Jumper is distinctly different from all the other hares.
