Marvelous Mini Ivory Sculpture!

Boston Tea Party is the SWEETEST carving I have had in the Gallery this year!

I find myself going back again and again to pour over the tiny ivory walruses sporting their ferocious tusks and big black eyes.

Like all walruses out of water, they are basking on the ice flow in various states of repose.

Did you know that in the early days of modern Inuit carving, because of the scarcity of medium and the high cost of shipping the pieces to the South, the carvings were often carved from ivory and were very tiny like these four adventurers!

How can you resist?!
