Maasterpiece Carving! Museum quality Sculpture!

Kelly Qimirpik was one of Canada's top Inuit Master Carvers.

He died over 5 years ago so it would be extremely unlikely to find one of his carvings in a gallery.  At best, you may be able to find his work through an auction house.

BUT, I recently had the good fortune to find this magnificent Qimirpik Mother and Child piece.

This style of this piece screams  with Days Gone By and Tradition.

Sculptures that depict the maternal bond are always popular.

This mother is carrying her child in an amaut (which is similar to a loose hood) and picking berries for the family.

Is there any culture where the women don't multi-task?

The Inuk woman's long skirt softly swirls.

The light plays of the shadows of her face and garments.

This scene has a magical quality that ranks it as one of Qimirpik's most delightful works of art.

Qimirpik had earned a ranking among the top Master Carvers.

This is someone's opportunity to own a timeless Inuit sculpture from a respected and talented carver.

Canada’s TD bank (Toronto Dominion) proudly acquired several of Qimirpik's pieces in 2010.

They remain in their permanent collection as a testament to Qimirpik’s willingness to take risks and be innovative.
