Scenting bears are Walking bears who have their nose pointed down to the ground or up in the air,

They are using their noses to "examine" the air around them.

Bears like Chestnut, have large noses.

The lining of a bear's nose is 100 times greater than a human which gives them an excellent sense of smell.

A bear's sense of smell is 7x greater than a bloodhound and the range of their ability to smell is measured in miles!

All this to say that Chestnut has an amazing sense of smell.

I would say that for a bear, his sense of smell is one of his most important "tools" for his long term survival.

Chestnut is a sturdy, determined young bear who would make an ideal gift to a young child.

You might start a life long passion for nature in a young person.
