CURATOR'S CHOICE
First generation Inuit artists are an important part of Inuit history.
These people are usually the last of the Inuit who lived a traditional life style ie. living in igloos in winter and skin tents in summer. They lived off the land, hunting and fishing to provide food and make clothing.

Because of the rarity of these first generation pieces and because their carvers were true pioneers in the world of Inuit art, I have made Love, a CURATOR'S CHOICE.

Masterpiece Carving! Museum quality Sculpture!

Lucy Tutsuitok's minimalistic style is legendary.

Our appraisals of her work, indicate that her work is highly valued and sought after.

I was fortunate to find this charming and historic piece for the Gallery.

There may still be a few of Lucy's unsold pieces that are selling as new pieces.

This means that Love is a solid investment.

It will easily double in value in less than five years.

I love the minimalist style of the first generation Inuit carvers.

These artists used only hand tools.

To forge a sculpture from stone with hammers and chisels was physically demanding and time consuming.

When I see these older carvings, I am reminded of the hard lives of the traditional Inuit and the spirit that gave them resilience and a love of nature.

Lucy was one of Arviat's most famous artists.

Her art has been featured in numerous Inuit art magazines, history books, and Exhibitions.
