Masterpiece Carving!

The trident (a three-pronged fisherman's spear) is a symbol of strength and vigor.

Shaimout's eerie Sea Creature is one of the most imaginative Inuit sculptures I have seen in the past seventeen years.

First, the fish-like feelers that hang from the corner of the human mouth, stops our desire to think of Trident as a Merman.

Mermen would also have human arms, but Trident has fins!

I am so intrigued by the detail of the human head but is that hair on the scalp or a helmut that helps direct the water over the creature's back?

Look at the large tongue so beautifully carved it appears to have been carved and then inserted into the mouth.

And the fastidiously carved pattern of the hollow body is incredible.

It must have taken Daniel weeks to complete this effect!

This stunning magical sculpture would be a life long favourite either for your collection or for a very special person in your life.
