Provenance: September 2025: Sadly, Pavinak recently passed away. He was a pillar for the Inuit art community and was well known for his gentle and jolly Caribou.
This Baby Walrus is a welcome unexpected carving.
SCRATCH MY TUMMY? is a sweet baby walrus lying on his back.on the ice.
His flippers reaching up like a human baby, is he asking for a hug or a scratch on his
tummy?.
His "baby" tusks are perfect.
He will grow into his tusks one day.
Suddenly, he will have become the familiar large Walrus we love.
Pavinak had a quirky carving style which is reflected in each of his pieces.
See our Petaulassie's A Bearded Caribou.
Every collector deserves a carving by Petaulassie.
