Sedna is a mythical sea spirit who began life as a young Inuk girl.
She and her father were in a boat escaping a flock of birds who were pursuing them.
Her father flung her over the boat to lighten the load.
As she clung to the side of the boat, her father severed her fingers.
She sank to the bottom of the ocean, where she became the Mother of the Oceans and all ocean creatures.
Her fingers became seals, walruses and whales.
MOTHER OF THE SEA is a benevolent Mother who loves and protects all her children.
Kelly honours Mother of the Sea with an animated Mermaid figure replete with a beautiful green scaled tail, pearly white skin and thick long hair.
Sedna's hair is an essential feature; her hair can be loose or braided.
Mother is elevated above the sea floor so we are able to see every aspect of this endearing carving.
