I love this moose.

I don't believe I have ever seen an Inuit carver fashion a moose.

This sculpture is beguiling.  It is a partnership of traditional realism (ie. it looks like a real moose) and comedy.

The large staring eyes and the slight underbite gives the moose a cartoonish personality.

This piece reminds me of Bullwinkle the Moose who was best friends with Rocky the Squirrel in the children's tv show Rocky and his Friends.

In an instant, this art transports me to another time and another place.

Isn't that exactly what we hope for when connect to art?

Peter has crowned our moose with a spectacular set of antlers. They are the first thing you see when you first encounter Moose.

The pale green coloured stone is the right choice for this winsome fellow.  The colour conjures images of the mossy tundra and allows the viewer to see every gorgeous detail of Peter's carving.

The moose "beard", the subtle back hump, the sturdy and stocky legs are the realistic features of Moose.

I especially appreciate the uneven ground  Peter has carved.  It would have been so much easier to place the moose directly on flat ground but Peter has chosen the more challenging artistic path.

Peter K. is an exciting carver.  Each one of his pieces are magnetic, drawing the viewer into the sculpture so we can discover each precious detail.
