Johnny has strayed outside the box and fashioned this vignette of traditional Inuit life with a BLACK igloo.

The black snow "bricks" against the white snow "caulking" elevates the piece to a more Modern rendition>

Even the kayak is black!

The wooden cradle for the kayak is exquisite in its execution.

The warmth of the wood softens the hard surfaces like the snow and the igloo.

Behaviourists like to point out that humans are attracted to subjects that take them back to their childhoods. Usually a time of innocence and happiness.

Perhaps, those of us who are fascinated with these Inuit scenes of daily life in days gone by, are also fascinated by realistic train sets, and Victorian dollhouses, etc.

Did you find yourself hoping to see an Inuk emerging from the Igloo or tying up his dog?
