When I saw this piece, I immediately became very excited to own it. It is not often I find a carving that leaves a lasting impression on me after only seeing it for a few seconds.
This piece really speaks for itself. The tranquility of the setting captivates very much the northern way of life. The combination of bone, ivory and hair draw this piece out of its scene into reality. It is very captivating and is the style, and quality of piece you will one day see in a high end Inuit art auction show.
All three elements come together beautifully.
I have no doubt that this piece belongs in a museum. It is one of the nicest sculptures I have ever seen. For these reasons alone, I put this piece into the masterpiece category and I was very lucky to stumble upon it.
As mentioned, each inuk is exquisitely handcrafted from Ivory. The base that they are working in is made from whalebone.
An Igloo tag is attached and is legal for sale within all Canadian provinces and Territories.
This piece is for sale to Canadian residents only. Due to its Ivory substance, this piece is restricted for sale to all residents outside of Canada.
