Pits told me he had something special for me when I was to see him again. Well this owl that he presented me was certainly indeed very special. The stone is serpentine but comes from a very far place away from Kimmirut. Pits got this original green coloured stone near his fishing camp.

When I saw the owl, I knew immediately it was a very special piece. The colour is  electrifying and bright. The collage of lime and green colours adds a sense of calmness to the piece. Its soft pastel tones create a beautiful glow around it that makes it so distinguishably to that of other carvings you will see.

Furthermore, this is an exquisitely carved owl by Canada's most world renowned artists for owls - Pits Qimirpik. Pits has numerous prize winning pieces on an international scale. All of his owls sell for extremely high prices. His works can be found in Canada's national art collection in Ottawa.

The carving is in perfect condition, brand new. Carved in 2016. The carving is signed in Inuktitut, dated (2016) on the bottom, and comes with an igloo tag.
