This is a beautifully proportioned arctic hare done in a gorgeous jet black stone. It has fantastic dancing moves. The carving has a good mass to it, weights almost 4 lbs (the hare is chubby)

This is one of the best dancing hares we've seen in awhile. It has a strong disposition, colorful movement and beautiful detail.

Signed by the artist.

Pitseolaq Qimirpik is a young carver from Cape Dorset (born in 1986). Famous artist Kellypalik Qimirpik is his father.

Pits enjoys carving different subjects (dancing bears, muskoxen, people), but he is most famous for his dancing arctic hares that are always full of life and joy.
