Inuit Artist: Isaac Panigayak (1950 - )

This work's poignancy can be partly explained by its relative rawness; in the sense it resembles some of the great emotive sculptures created by artists from the isolated community of Taloyoak.

The tenuous embroidery of feathers, atomic proportions, and exquisite beauty, have endeared Panigayak's loons to be celebrated among the avant garde circles of Inuit art. Solo works and publications by him have been adopted and praised worldwide.

Beautiful insert eyes (black stone and caribou antler).

Signed in Inuktitut on the bottom of the bird, comes with igloo tag.
