Community: Cape Dorset
Also known as: Markoosie, Papigatook
Markosie learned carving by watching other artists in the community. He started  carving as a teenager. His mother, Komajuk Tunnillie, and grandparents Tayaraq and Qavaroak (Kabubuwa) Tunnillie, were all accomplished carvers in Cape Dorset. Markosie likes to make bears. His bears are always beautifully chubby and have detailed facial features.
