This is an incredible classic inukshuk done by Inuit artist Qavavau Shaa from Cape Dorset.
This beautiful inukshuk has beautiful proportions and is made from a spectacular pale green serpentine stone.
This carving is signed by the artist and comes with an igloo tag.
Qavavau Shaa (1993 - )
Qavavau comes from a family of renowned Cape Dorset carvers. He is the youngest artist in his family. He started carving at the age of 12 or 13. He learned by watching his grandfather.
His grandfather is Agangayuk Shaa. Pudlalik Shaa and Alariaq Shaa are Agangayuk Shaa's sons and Qavavau is a son of Pudlalik Shaa.
Qavavau enjoys carving inukshuk sculptures as well as bears.
