With his recent conceptualizations of the Dancing Hare, Qimirpik proves his worth not only as a gifted sculptor with vision, but also as a brilliant craftsman.

The jet black stone of this carving glimmers and sparkles under the light, giving the appearance of the hare engaging in Modern dance!  The movement of the arms and the elevated leg keeps this hare in a state of perpetual motion.

This carving by Qimirpik is truly exceptional.  I am proud to have this hare in my gallery.  It has such a strong disposition. Its detail is beautiful.

This carving is signed by the artist and comes with the igloo tag of authenticity

Pitseolaq Qimirpik is a young carver from Cape Dorset (born in 1986). Famous artist Kellypalik Qimirpik is his father.

Pits enjoys carving different subjects (dancing bears, muskoxen, people), but he is most famous for his dancing arctic hares that are always full of life and joy.
