Inuit art: Dancing Bear
Inuit Artist: Nuna Parr
Size: 17 inches tall, 16" wide, 60 Lbs
Community: Cape Dorset, NU
Stone: Serpentine

Very chubby (the size of almost two bears, weights 60 lbs)

Nuna Parr has come in with another one of his magnificent bears. And this one is nothing short of spectacular. His bears are getting much harder to obtain than even a few years ago. The master is pushing 70 and has arthritis in his hands which had to get treated in Winnipeg hospital last Spring..

Of course there is a huge line up of galleries waiting to get his bears. But as I mentioned in the "about me" section of my page - I personally know Nuna Parr and get his bears before everyone else - thus get to go ahead of the line.

When I saw this bear, I fell in Love with it right away. It really "pops" and gets noticed to the naked eye immediately when you walk in the room. The color! It is so gorgeous! Light green / yellow high intensity gloss stone really bring this bear to the forefront of its surroundings.

The animation and movement of this bear is incredible. The arms are waving in the air, the torso is turned 45 degrees from the foot. It is an immense full motion dancing bear.

For the Inuit art enthusiast, I do not need to explain the notoriety that comes with owning a Nuna Parr Bear. Pure and simple, he is the best Inuit artist in the world for Bears.
