In this enigmatic work, Shaa achieves the spirit of the dancing bear through delicate balance, crisp lines and an overall fluidity that sparks an electric vibrancy from head to toe.

Justly admired for their graceful elegance and acute disposition, Shaa's works are not solely known for their robust content. Although he is famously recognized for his grand bears, it is the finesse and detail that prevail the sometimes overbearing large mass of stone. It is this delicate balance that made Alariaq Shaa one of the most promising young inuit artists.

This beautiful and poignant sculpture portrays a spirit bear. Shaa eloquently captures the bears celebratory and jolly mood almost through posture alone, conveyed by means of the sparest and subtlest of undulating sculptural forms.
