Did you know Jimmy's famous loons with the red eye (one on display at the National Art Gallery of Canada) is the basis of our signature company Logo?

This is not only a classic Jimmy Iqaluq Loon, but quite frankly, is one of the nicest ones I have ever seen. the voluptuous roundness of the head takes on an exuberant reflection that radiates its entire surroundings. Done in a refined black finish in argelite stone, this piece exemplifies perfection in the inuit art medium.

The slightly tilted head give this piece so much depth and personality. This is what made my heart skip a beat when seeing it for the first time.

The loon itself has strong mass to it and is quite large.

Jimmy Iqaluq is famous for his loons as one sits in Ottawa's national art museum of fine arts. He is among the 5 elite Inuit artists in Canada and has exhibitions that have toured all over the world. His pieces are valued very highly.

This carving is in perfect condition, brand new. The carving is signed on the bottom and comes with an igloo tag.

The eyes are red (they are inserted, carved out of a different rock, Jimmy gets this red rock from a seashore)

To give a brief overview of this sculpture is like trying to describe why a beautiful woman is so beautiful. The picture speaks for itself. What I can say is this carving is from Jimmy Iqaluq. He is famous for his loons as one sits in Ottawa's national art museum of fine arts. He is among the 5 elite Inuit artists in Canada and has exhibitions that have toured all over the world.
