Fantastic movements.
Recently, we have discovered a new artist, Derald Taylor. He resides in Canada, in the Northwest Territories. The Canadian government offers little support to the artists in this region, so often the carvers struggle to find galleries that will carry their work.
Within these limitations, we occasionally find a hidden gem. Derald Taylor is one of these “once in a lifetime” gifts! Since I was introduced to Derald's masterful talent a year ago, I cannot wait for his carvings to arrive at the gallery. Each carving tells its own poignant tale.
Derrald’s choice of the sensual orange-brown Brazilian Soapstone for Dancing Bear reflects his love for his regional Arctic animals. His sculptures softly undulate under the play of light. Even as they stand inanimate, the carvings appear to gently breathe.
This is the magic of Derald Taylor. We are honored to be able to bring his passionate art to our appreciative Inuit art collectors.
