Carved with great skill and refinement, this sculpture brings to mind the work of Nunavut masters Jimmy Iqaluq, Pitseolak Qimirpik and Napatchie Sharky. The embodiment of the salmon fish coalesced into the bears mouth stone transform this piece from rigid state - to life.

The tenuous embroidery and visages of Arctic mammal have rendered Josephie's craft as a distinctive, yet prominent mainstay for galleries alike. His fastidious proportions, and exquisite beauty, have endeared his depiction of Northern wildlife to be celebrated among the avant-garde circles of Inuit art. Solo works and publications by him have been adopted and praised worldwide.

The magnificent coloration of stone fused together with the jet black fish create a luminous contrast that echo's vibrancy and pungent character.

The piece is large, and is considered a centrepiece to stage in any space.
