I am always enamoured by Inuit carvings of pairs of animals.

Yes. I know I am giving human traits to animals (anthropomorphizing) but it is difficult to see these duos and not think that they are bonded to each other.

In this scene, Peter has carved a winsome pair of whales, side by side and obviously enjoying each other's company.

It could be that one is helping or teaching the other.  That is up to the viewer to decide.  But what I do know is that these two whales need each other.

No longer alone in a harsh and dangerous world, Peter has given his whales the gift of friendship.  They are not alone.

The stone is so unique and reflects the lightheartedness of the scene.

This is one of the most endearing whale scenes I have seen in quite a while.

I am moved by Peter K.'s vision.
