Another Masterpiece by Damien Iquallaq!
This is the most dramatic bird carving I have seen for a long time.
The hawk is masterfully balanced on a fifteen degree angle. She leans forward balanced on the edge of her nest. She screams out a warning and searches the sky for predators. If necessary, she will die to protect her eggs.
Look at the detail in the wings and tail. The feathers are deeply etched as if the wind is ruffling each individual feather. Damien has crossed the bird’s wings mimicking a human with their hands clasped behind their back. This is a pose of strength and determination. Damien’s hawk is the ultimate mother, as she prepares to defend her home to the bitter end.
Damien has masterfully carved this hawk to seem as if it is will lift off and fly with the smallest provocation. The colour of the stone is soft and pure but the impeccable details make this carving stand out from all other bird carvings. The eyes are riveting, the facial features precise and brimming with emotion. Even the eggs are beautiful.
Damien is an innovative multi media carver. His admiration for this hawk is unquestionable. With Mother and Father’s day around the corner, this would be an incredible gift for a proud parent. Or is there a birdwatcher in your family? A Nature lover?
This carving is signed by Damien Iquallaq and comes with the Igloo Tag of Authenticity.
