This quirky friendly muskox captured our hearts immediately when seeing this for the first time. The beautiful inlayed eyes, the tongue sticking out, and the gorgeous black stone have rendered this piece to be one of our all-time-favorite muskox sculptures ever.

When I saw this piece for the first time, my jaw dropped. Qimirpik decided to try something new. His muskox are some of the absolute best in the inuit art medium. With that, this is the first series of muskox he's ever launched, and wow, it is absolutely sensational.

The grooves in the stone, the texture, and the tilted head bring a depth I rarely ever see in Muskox carvings. The smooth facial expressions contrasting with the rugged torso give this piece an intensity that warrants it to be in a museum.

One day when Qimirpik is old and grey, beautiful carvings like this will be worth so much more.tate University, Baton Rouge, LA
