This is a superb muskox by Joamie Ipeelee from Iqaluit. It is made from a traditional dark green serpentine.
The eyes and horns really contrast incredibly with the stone making this a statement piece. Ipeelee's muskoxen fly off the shelves whenever we receive them. The plush silky smooth stone gives a certain flow and style to this piece.
Muskoxen are Joamie Ipeelee's signature carvings.
Joamie Ipeelee (1963 - ) is a third generation artist from a world famous family of Cape Dorset carvers. His grandfather is world renowned Nooveya Ipeelie and father is famous Seepee Ipeelie.
