Usually, Manasie carves much larger Owls.

A 7" Manasie owl is a rare treasure!
Manasie has used the same pure white stone he uses to carve his larger birds to carve this sweet bird.

This is an opportunity to finally have one of Akpaliapik's world famous Master works in your collection.

The white stone is opulent. The owls have a serenity and peacefulness that I believe is partly a result of the magical stone.

NOTE** I spoke to Manasie and he told me that he is improving the technique he uses to form his carvings’ inlayed eyes.

Instead of using one stone for the inlay, he is now able to use overlapping stones which creates a black border around the eye. Although this is more difficult, it creates more depth and complexity to the eye. This owl is the first piece in which he has used this process and he plans to continue using this technique.

**Manasie Akpaliapik SIGNATURE Owl carving

Manasie has carved several signature features in Vanilla.

The  Manasie inlaid eyes are the first feature.

Second. are the black curved talons which are used to grasp prey and then rip it apart.

And finally, Vanilla's posture is typical of Akpaliapik's owls.

Manasie is not just an elite Inuit Master Carver.

He is one of only a few Premier Inuit Master Carvers.  It has taken him almost fifty years to achieve this level of skill and achievement.

You can search Google to read about Manasie's illustrious career and accolades.

These Inuit carvers are ambassadors for Canadian art around the world.

This owl is the culmination of a lifetime of creativity, talent and innovation on the part of Manasie.

This sculpture is masterfully carved and and timeless in its realistic style.

Manasie's owls are his Master work and with this designation, it is safe to say that this is a tremendous investment piece as well.

This sculpture will always bring you joy and peace.
