Huddled together for warmth, these spirited birds are braving the cold Canadian North.

As daunting as this environment is, the inlayed eyes (caribou bone) denote a happy and spirited trio.

Mom (or Dad) uses her outstretched wings to hold her chicks close and safe. Her strong beak is open in a menacing pose warning any nearby preditor.

The larger chick is slightly off balance as he leans into his parent.

He looks at the viewer as if to say “Oh Boy”!!!

The smaller chick is looking upward to the sky possibly hoping for lunch to arrive.

I am smitten with this particular shade of green serpentine stone. Its pale hue with patches of deeper green, gives the birds a realistic appearance.

Ningeosiak’s Eagle family sends a complex  message.

The energy of the chicks is light hearted and humorous. But the adult eagle reminds us that the world is also a serious and harsh place.

This beguiling piece would add levity to your collection. As a gift, it would be a perfect piece for a new collector looking for novelty.
