This Moss-Davies carving of a Bear and her cub is so exquisite, it was difficult deciding which of my photographs I should use in the description.
Idriss’ treatment of the flawless white Alabaster stone is brilliant. The finish on the stone is refined yet complex. Alabaster occasionally has a bland monotonous appearance but not this stone!
In the light, the Alabaster sparkles and its energy is electric. The sculptures undulate softly in the play of the light. Each curve of the bears’ bodies, each detail of their Teddy Bear faces is kissed by the light reflected back from the pure white stone.
This carving by Idris Moss-Davies ranks as one of his most delightful and engaging works of art.
This magical Bear and her Cub is one of the nicest works of art in our gallery at this moment.
What a loving gift this would be given to the mother of your children after the birth of a child. Or to any collector with a passion for polar bears.
This carving is new and comes with the Igloo Tag of Authenticity and is signed on the bottom by the artist.
