CURATOR'S CHOICE
Jaco's large sculptures of Inuk people involved in traditional roles, are unprecedented  in Inuit carving today.  There are only a few artists (eg Abraham Anghik Ruben) who can create fantasy, myth, history and tradition from a piece of stone like Jaco Ishulutak.
In the future, each one of Jaco's large figures could easily find their way into one of Canada's Art Galleries like the WAG, AGO or National Gallery of Canada.,
Each time I acquire one of these pieces I am inspired by the exceptional talent of Jaco Ishulutak which is why Nipi is a CURATOR'S CHOICE.

Masterpiece Sculpture  Museum quality Carving!

This is a monumental sculpture by world class carver Jaco Ishulutak.

The character pieces Jaco carves today are unprecedented.

His sculptures are figures of fantasy, myth and tradition.

There are few Inuit carvers today that focus on these epic pieces.

Nipi (music, the sound of speech) is one of Jaco's signature pieces.

His garments are elaborate and beautifully designed.

His exaggerated lower body suggests a benevolent giant like character.

Even his face and hair style are that of a fairy tale character.

He sits on a large rock, leaning backwards, beating his drum with passion and conviction.

Is he driven to sing by his heritage?

His ancestors from centuries ago may have been the community drum dancer.

He feels the pride of continuing this essential Inuit tradition.

These Jaco pieces will be become legendary within your family.

There will be those members who will quietly hope that Nipi may be included in their inheritance.
