This juvenile owl is testing his wings.

He is tentative but cheerful.

He spreads his wings and seems a bit surprised at their span.

His big round eyes (fashioned from caribou antler) emphasize his youthful bearing.

At any moment, he will take a step forward, and for the first time in his life, feel the wind under his wings and begin to fly.

Snowy owls are the most common owl in the Arctic. They are one of the most popular carvings among Inuit art collectors.

This brave little fellow would be a cherished gift for any occasion.
